Sculpture Gardens: Where Art Meets Nature
If you are looking for a fun day with friends and family that involves the outdoors, artwork and excellent photo opportunities all wrapped into one, there are two sculpture garden locations in the tri-state area that offer this!
Storm King Art Center, located in the lower hudson valley in New York, has over 100 sculptures on its 500-acre landscape with grassy hills, gorgeous fields and robust woodlands. The design of the land keeps its native foliage and helps to preserve wildlife in the area. Many of the sculptures are larger than life in size but do not disrupt natural exterior. Almost all of the sculptures were created by acclaimed artists from around the world.
Grounds for Sculpture is located in Hamilton, NJ and similar to Storm King Art Center it features a multitude of large sculptures throughout its beautiful landscape. Many of these sculptures are interactive and create what feels like stepping into a fantasy land of the many artists imaginations.
Offering classes and exhibitions, these sculpture gardens showcase new artists on a regular basis and aim to teach artistic practices to the surrounding community.
Both of these venues are meant to capture the hearts and minds of children and adults through large scale art pieces and to share contemporary art in a natural setting.
