Netting Serves as Unique & Attractive Architectural Element for Restaurant Design in Vietnam
A restaurant located at the center of Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam provides a comfortable atmosphere for diners shielded from the intense heat and sun native to the region using netting.
Designed by NISHIZAWAARCHITECTS, the netting initially created for agricultural purposes is made from polyethylene and is multi-functional.
Not only does it soften the impact of the sun but it also allows for more plant life to grow. Additionally, it is cost-effective and can easily cover the entirety of the restaurants rooftop and several of its walls.
The netting is semi-transparent black and being that it is perforated, it creates only a partial barrier that does not completely separate diners from the outdoors.
The indoor dining area, terrace and garden are all interconnected by a variety of trees, plants and foliage beautifully arranged the restaurant’s furnishings and decor.
The goal of the restaurant was to give diners a comfortable space to coexist with the natural landscape outdoors.
