Mod Focus: Sean Dix Charlotte Low Coffee Table
This week’s mod focus is on the Charlotte Low Coffee Table by USA born interior architect and designer Sean Dix. Presently, his company Dix Design+Architecture is based in both Hong Kong and Milan. Like many of his designs, this retro inspired coffee table is a contemporary design with timeless modern appeal.
Its uniquely triangular shape with rounded edges resembles a guitar pick or a spade on a playing card deck. Traces of classic mid-century modern design along with Scandinavian style can be seen in the material, shape and color.
Its mixture of wood and metal, tapered legs and unconventional form is both functional and visually interesting. The design features a 3-legged steel, black-powdered coated base combined with an elegant walnut veneer top. It is a low profile coffee table created for furniture with a similar low profile style.
Sean Dix designs are reminiscent of many Danish designs from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. It is rare to find contemporary furniture designs that can mimic this impressive style.
The Charlotte Low Coffee Table is just one of many furnishings by Sean Dix. Dix Design+Architecture primarily creates for interiors of restaurants, bars, hotels and other hospitality locations. Fortunately, you can purchase the Charlotte Low Coffee Table along with other Sean Dix designs online and in-store locations worldwide.
