Designer Spotlight: Project Import Export

The Miami, Florida-based Project Import Export (also known as PIE) Studio is an eco-friendly design firm that creates inspirational art-like furniture pieces that are made from sustainable materials and reflect the forms found in nature. They use familiar materials like rattan and solid wood blocks, but they have also diversified into liana, water hyacinth and bamboo to truly add a unique but natural vibe. They choose materials that have traditionally been a threat to certain ecosystems and destroyed by humans in order to put these beautiful plants to good use. Their focus is on bringing the natural world into the home or business through sustainable means, and this ethos shows in form and function of all of their designs.
