Designer Spotlight: elisa werbler
Combining form, color and texture in a playful way is the main goal of furniture designer Elisa Werbler. Her pieces are fun and whimsical, and feature attention to detail that is refreshing in the too often bland minimalism of cookie cutter designs. She brings together art and design without pretension. The above pictured Pour tea cup is part of a set that uses molded liquid plastic, dripped over a mold, using several layers and alternating matte and glossy textures for intrigue. The below pictured chair uses contrasts between the white “handle” – with its sharp edges and shiny lacquer – and the softer grey seat itself that inspires a tactile sensation.
