Different Types of Shower Heads to Enhance Your Bathing Experience
When moving into a new home, designing your dream home or installing a new shower head, there are a variety of options to choose from. The nozzle and the features are what differentiate the water pressure, the direction of the stream and the size / shape the droplets the water take when flowing from it.
Standard Shower Head: Most common shower head and doesn’t come with any adjustable features usually attached to the wall.
Fixed Mount Shower Head: Aside from their more modern appearance, they have a pivot mechanism that allows you to adjust the direction of the water stream.
Handheld Shower Head: As opposed to a fixed mount shower head, the shower head can be taken off of the mount and is attached to a hose making it more convenient to rinse soapy residue off of all areas of your body and for bathing children and animals.
Rain Shower Head: The water pressure that flows from them feels like a heavy rain and can be adjusted from standard water pressure to rain setting. They can be handheld or on a fixed mount, sometimes installed directly from above the ceiling.
Massage Shower Head: These shower heads are often handheld but multiple fixed mounted massage shower heads can be installed on sides of the shower to massage different parts of your body releasing water pressure from many angles. They have different settings easily changed by rotating the top of the shower head and use strong water pressure that follow a wide range of rhythmic patterns like shiatsu or deep pressure.
Mist Shower Head: Misting shower heads have a feature that releases a mist similar to a steam room which works wonderfully especially in enclosed chamber showers.
Dual / Combo Shower Head: A combination of two shower heads combining a fixed mount shower head and a handheld shower head. This makes it easier to rinse your hair with a fixed mount above and rinse your body using the handheld shower head simultaneously.
Low Flow Shower Heads: For water conservation, they are engineered to save on water and money by using 2.0 gpm (gallons per minute) instead of the 2.5 gpm used by most standard shower heads.
