tom dixon’s low slab tables

LIKE MID-CENTURY MODERN LEGOS, Tom Dixon’s Low Slab tables can stand alone but truly shine when arranged together. Each piece is made from black stained solid oak with a richly brushed surface that brings out the best of the wood’s characteristics while keeping the piece distinctly modern; slightly tapered legs finish these sparse, yet indubitably cool pieces.

I really love these tables. The irregular shapes are really quite brilliant and break up the usual square and boxy looks in an office. The black wood finish is pretty cool too. I’d want to use a pad for writing at – too bad I couldn’t find one that was similarly shaped. I like the rhinolin material (they talk about it at http://www.30-minutevacation.com/resources/si_deskpads.htm) since it appears to be environmentally friendly. Maybe they can be custom cut to match the surface of the table. Never hurts to ask I guess.
