The sculptures are like a nostalgic science experiment with an artistic twist. Landau has monitored the items placed below the surface of the water for over 15 years to see how the different shapes, materials and objects form the salt crystals over top of them.

Her artwork showcases the alchemical nature of salt, in that it can be both “death bearing and life sustaining” in its properties and the effect it has on objects both inside and outside of the dead sea which it was rebore from after its emergence.
