Unique Home Furnishings Inspired by Children’s Toys for Italian Brand

Inspired by children’s toys, two unique furnishings for Italian brand JCP were created by Lebanese designer, Samer Alameen.

The Eret is a console table similar looking to a toy made in 1898 called Meccano or a modern day version called K’nex. The purpose of the model building games were to connect different pieces that snapped together effortlessly because of their perforated holes and protruding plugs.

The eclectic table appears to function the same way but in actuality it is made of perforated stainless steel fixed together by bolts.

The other item, the Orgone, is a lamp designed to look like a bubble blower. The shade of the lamp looks like a soapy bubble resting atop a blower.

The base is made from brass, while the shade is made from borosilicate glass. The LED light inside accentuates the iridescence of the lampshade giving it even more of that soapy bubble appearance.

The furnishings are ultra-contemporary, artistic and sculptural emphasizing functional art in the home.
