Trend Spotlight: Shrinking Form, Growing Patterns

For the past several years, oversized furniture was all the rage. Whether it was designed to fill large rooms with cathedral seating or to emulate the stuffed leather chairs found at posh clubs, oversized chairs and tables have come – and gone. Now, modern interiors are shrinking the size but increasing the patterns on their main features. No longer are tufted, cushy, thick sofas in vogue, but rather thinner, more ornate and highly patterned pieces have begun springing up. These more detailed pieces can be overwhelming, so it might be best not to make the switch all at once, but instead ease in the new accented furniture to compliment your current decor.
