The Ray Chair with 5-Legs Resembles “Roots of a Tree”

The Ray Chair designed by Lera Moiseeva provide exceptional stability by utilizing a 5-leg design with one firmly placed in the middle. Inspiration for the design was intended to resemble the roots of a tree.

“The higher a stem of a plant reaches to the light, the deeper its roots grow into the ground. The nature of this chair works according to the same principle; the legs of the chair work as roots, that give life to the stable and firm seat,” says Lera Moiseeva.

The Ray chair is made from tubular steel making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The Ray Chair was first showcased at the The Naturalist Show during Stockholm Design Week 2016 where according to the Moiseeva, “all the objects in the show attempt to capture nature into an artifact.”
