Maglianero Cafe & Iskra Print Collective in Burlington, Vermont

A block from beautiful Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont is historic warehouse turned art gallery, cafe and print-making collective.

The cafe is Maglianero serving pastries and beverage with an open floor space for members of the collective, residents and visitors to enjoy the space with free wifi, plenty of seating and a minimalist interior design.

Modern decor and furnishings keep the space free from too many distractions and the large windows keep it well lit with natural light. Artwork from artists who work closely with the Iskra Print Collective are showcased on the walls on the cafe and change month-to-month.

The space is kid-friendly, pet-friendly and bike-friendly, with small stools for tots and dog bowls in the front and a bike-rack in the back. The spot is reminiscent of a progressive start-up company with energetic instrumental dance music playing in the background.

Iskra Print Collective collaborates with artists on printing projects and hosts exhibitions, events and workshops to further engage the community in the art of screen-printing while providing exposure to artists. In Russian, “Iskra” means “the vital spark,” as their goal is to use print as a way “to communicate, influence, and inspire.”
