The collection is colorful and eco-friendly, showcasing the methods of upcycling and better use of discarded materials. His inspiration for the collection is inspired by the urban artistry found in Mexico City and Guadalajara.

The offcut pieces of glasses, in varying shapes and sizes were already found within his studio from previous creations. Instead of discarding them, he turned them into this collection. Using a freestyle method, he plays around with the compositions of the glass pieces.

They become the decorative patterns upon each plate. Each plate is made from layers of colored sheet glasses, measuring about 14 inches in diameter. The colors chosen for each design are based on the raw material available to him. Fragile, colorful and sustainable, they are another skillful step towards future eco-friendly designs to beautify our homes and inspire our creativity.

The collection of large offcut glass plates are designed for decorative purposes. They can hung as unique wall art, mantel sculptures, or used as centerpieces on your dining room table.

“If we consider everything, every aspect, every element of our material world with equal importance and weight, then nothing is worth discarding; and we can invent ways to use the most neglected parts to generate something new and beautiful. I hope each of these plates captures that joyful sense of invention and care.” – Fabian Cappello
