The world’s first, 90 foot long, glass bottomed swimming pool in South London links together to apartment towers creating a miraculous optical illusion. Designed by Hal architects, from below the design looks like the swimming pool water and the swimmers are hovering from above, from inside of the pool, swimmers dive into a pool of water with a wavy view of city below.
Swimming pool turned aquarium and interactive art gallery, architecture firm Serrano + Baquero merged an immensely deep swimming pool where different glass windows throughout the interior showcase the swimmers below. The pool is elevated from above but the young couple who own the summer home access it from underneath.
Entitled the Hemeroscopium House, it resembles a modern brutalism architectural style. The swimming pool is long and suspended in mid-air on it’s upper level on a horizontal cantilever. Perpendicular to another swimming pool that resides just below it. The entirety of the modular home including the swimming pool is designed by Ensamble Studio.
