World renowned fashion house Gucci showcases their décor 2018 collection designed by Alessandro Michele.

The series of items are embellished by the house’s signature motifs and patterns including traditional Italian art capturing the “craft and the artisan skill associated with Italian makers.” To further the artistry, the showcasing of the collection uses prints to unveil the designs while adding an edgy Gucci inspired element.

The collection uses Gucci prints inspired by their read-to-wear clothing designs and are included on new metal tables and trays. The chairs are upholstered in the GG pattern jacquard in addition with bee and star patterns.

For its tableware, Gucci employs the skill of Richard Ginori, a Florentine porcelain company founded in 1735. The collection includes vases with snakes for handles and the all-seeing eye similar to that of symbols used in classic renaissance design and on US currency produced by Ginori.

Some of the other items include prints featuring a whimsical toile de jouy design and an elegant herbarium print of cherry branches, leaves and flowers, inspired by a vintage fabric.

The artist behind the campaign for the 2018 collection is Alex Merry. Her illustrations are comprised of wild animals, mythological and folkloric inspirations perfectly captures Gucci’s bizarre world.
