CUBA OF YESTERYEAR is the chief inspiration for the Santiago seating collection, available at GREENCulture. Made from plantation-sourced Acacia hardwood, the collection boasts bold, angular lines and rounded corners for a chic, art-deco inspired style. We particularly like the cream-colored cotton fabric, which features a herringbone texture and contrasts well with the hand-finished frame.

SIMPLE AND SCULPTURAL, the Drake Coffee Table is an ideal minimalist piece; the star of the show is the slightly inset wooden top, veneered in either rich Macassar or striped Zebrano. The straightforward stainless steel base gives the table an exposed architectural feel and also minimizes the visual weight of the piece. Available at Gus Design, the Drake pairs well with the Bishop Table and Pawn Stool.

SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE, West Elm’s Wood Deck tiles are the outdoor equivalent of indoor Flor tiles (previously featured here). Even better: these pieces require no assembly and can simply laid flat for quick and stylish wood decking. Our only point of contention is the exotic nyatoh wood; we just hope it’s plantation sourced.

MORE HOLLYWOOD THAN HOME, the Fortuny Lamp (1907) looks more appropriate on a movie set or photography studio with its massive 33″ reflector. Those who love their furniture bold and flashy will definitely appreciate this piece, as its industrially-inspired lines and 8 foot height make it impossible to miss. Although solid black or beige shades are standard, we definitely prefer the more trendy ornamental shades which remind us of Tord Boontje’s frenetic work here.
